Preeti Bakaya is a Managing Director at Dentons Global Advisors in New Delhi. Ms. Bakaya specializes in India-specific issues for global clients. She has worked on a wide range of policies from e-commerce to agriculture and data protection, and spearheaded various award-winning public affairs and PR campaigns in India and elsewhere.
Ms. Bakaya began her career at Dentons Global Advisors (formerly Interel) in Brussels before moving to New Delhi in 2012 to open the firm’s first-ever India office, along with her colleague Prabha Nair. Prior to that, Ms. Bakaya worked for Microsoft in New Delhi, where she was manager of corporate public relations. In this role, she helped with various citizenship initiatives and community outreach projects and was point of contact for the company’s six business units.
Ms. Bakaya started her career as a journalist at Business Today in India. Later, she worked at Hill and Knowlton, Max Healthcare, and Aviva Life Insurance. She holds a history degree from Lady Shri Ram College at Delhi University and a master’s degree in history from Delhi University, as well as a master’s in international management from Royal Holloway at the University of London.
An avid reader who is fluent in English, Hindi, and Kashmiri, Ms. Bakaya now lives in New Delhi, where she was born and raised, with her husband and daughter.
